For the first time ever, 2 separate Coginchaug Little League All-Star teamss will be attending an East Regional tournament representing the state of Connecticut. This page will be our way to provide you full details on their tournaments. As they become available we will be posting game schedules, links to the Region website, scores, and information on competing leagues from around the Mid-Atlantic and New England.

 

Status - July 15

Coginchuag defeated Coventry 9-6 on Saturday and are the 2017 Connecticut State Champions. They are headed to the Little League Intermediate East Region Tournament on July 21-27 hosted by District 34 and Commack Little League at Cedar Road Park in East Northport, Long Island, NY. This is the 3rd straight year that Coginchaug has been the Connecticut champion. In the 5 years that Intermediate Baseball has been in place, only 2 other teams have been to the East Regional 3 times in a row as State Champs (Warwick Continental, RI 2013-2015 and Pennfield, NY (2014-2016).

Opening Day Ceremonies are on Friday, with a Parade of teams at Noon, Game 1 between Maryland and Massachusetts at 1PM, a Home Run derby at 3PM, and Opening Day Picnic at 6PM. 


Coginchaug opens on Saturday at 2PM against host Commack N Little League.
 

If they win they play the winner of Pennsylvania or New Jersey

If they lose they play the loser of Maryland or Massachusetts

Either game will be Sunday at 10 AM

Junior Softball - Coginchaug advanced out of Section 3/4 to participate at the East Region event to be held in Orange, CT starting July 21. As host, Connecticut places 2 teams in the tournament, and since CT D4 did not have a team to play as host, the East Region in Bristol approved co-Connecticut winners (CT-EAST and CT-WEST). Coginchaug advanced out of CT-East, as the Section 4 opponent Colchester had to back out and forefeit. Currently Fairfield and Granby are competing to be CT-West champ)
